The Botín Foundation and IE University, through the IE Foundation, have entered into a collaboration agreement to measure the impact the Botín Center and its activity have on the creativity of the inhabitants of Cantabria. This alliance will provide objective and reliable data on the degree of fulfilment of the Botín Center social mission regarding the development of creative capability of the region and its impact on the personal and local social-economic development.
The Chairman of the Botín Foundation, Javier Botín, and the Vice Chairman of IE University, Diego del Alcázar Benjumea, have entered into a collaboration agreement that in April 2019 will culminate in the presentation of results that, without a doubt, will help the Botín Center make the most of the capability of the arts to incite creativity in people. The General Manager of the Botín Foundation, Íñigo Sáenz de Miera, and the Executive Vice President of the IE Foundation, Carlos Mas were with them. This innovative project will make it possible to measure the impact the Botín Center has on society and the local economy, while providing useful information both for the academic world and for the development of other similar initiatives around the world.
According to Javier Botín, “having IE as a strategic partner in this ambitious and innovative task is a real privilege. Furthermore, these research projects are in addition to the work that the Botín Foundation performs in other areas and programs for developing reliable measurement systems that make knowing the actual impact of its activity possible”. In turn, Diego del Alcázar Benjumea has ensured that this partnership with the Botín Foundation “strengthens IE University’s commitment to humanities in order to understand the world that surrounds us, with sensitivity toward the arts, history, philosophy and literature, and with a commitment to developing a critical and comprehensive view of reality. Creativity, the foundation of all innovation, is part of our identity and our commitment to cultural and humanistic development. This alliance is the first step to continue promoting the transfer of knowledge through various initiatives and projects that promote the debate and discussion of new ideas, perspectives and thought”.
